Project Portfolio
Formula Electric Car

In 2018, I joined the Lafayette College Motorsports Formula Team. For two years, I was given the opportunity to design, analyze, and build mechanical parts for several key systems on the electric vehicle.
During my first year on the team, I was tasked with upgrading the existing dynamometer and preliminary drivetrain design. During my second year, I focused on electrical system integration and enclosure design.
Ribbon Drive Racer

For ME 210, my team and I competed in a series of head to head drag races involving shoe boxed sized race cars. Each team of 4 students modeled, designed, manufactured, and tested their own car.

My team implemented a unique ribbon-based drivetrain and spoke-in-wheel braking method. Our creativity proved to be effective and our racer was victorious.
Zumo Robotics

Using a purchased Zumo robot. I participated in a series of class-wide robotics competitions. Each project involved using various forms of closed and open-loop feedback control to perform various tasks.
For each competition, I modeled and derived plant models, used block diagram algebra to find a characteristic equation, designed a finite state machine, calculated gain values using Matlab to meet the desired system response, and implemented it all in with Arduino.
Thermal Fluids Projects

Lafayette College gave me the opportunity to do hands-on work with several thermal fluid systems. These projects included calculating efficiencies and ideal vs actual cycle comparisons for a gas turbine engine and for a steam turbine engine.

In addition, I used flow visualization techniques to observe the boundary layer change of flow over spheres and airfoils. I calculated drag and lift coefficients of several objects and used CFD software to model and analyze laminar flow over airfoil.
Gearbox Paperweight

This project is a CAD and manufacturing practice for a college class. Each part was designed using Autodesk Inventor. I produced shop drawings using school GD&T standards. I manufactured each part using a variety of machine tools
